Hello!

I’m Nicole, the woman behind Luly Bloom.

Minnesota is the beautiful place I call home, where I live with my husband, daughter, dog, cat, and chickens. I’m so happy you’re here!

How it Started:

A Journey from Garden to Resin Jewelry

Luly Bloom started as a way to preserve flowers grown in my garden in southern Minnesota. Although I found a passion for creating beautiful resin jewelry, I also loved growing flowers and learning the meaning behind them. Sustainable living is a huge part of my life and as I started selling my jewelry and experimenting more with resin, it was important to me that I include practices that are eco-conscious.

The Beginning

In 2020, my husband and I bought a charming old home built in 1914. At that time, I knew very little about flowers and gardening. Fortunately, my neighbor and my mom, both knowledgeable and willing to help, guided me through the basics. Initially, I didn’t grasp the allure of plants and flowers until my neighbor remarked, “I would be lost in a world without flowers.” Her words resonated with me, sparking a newfound interest in the significance of flowers.

A New Chapter

By 2022, I was a stay-at-home mom with my newborn, embracing this precious period in my life. However, anyone who has been home with a newborn 24/7 knows the physical and mental challenges it brings. During our daily walks, I made a conscious effort to slow down and be more present for my daughter. As she grew – and as the stroller walks turned into chasing after a toddler in the woods – she began collecting all sorts of flowers.

The Start of Luly Bloom

Each time those flowers wilted, I felt a pang of sadness, wishing they could last longer. This led me to explore preservation methods, ultimately discovering resin. I began experimenting with encasing flowers in resin and was captivated by the stunning results, especially in jewelry pendants. After gifting my creations to friends and family, I decided to take a leap and opened an Etsy shop. The name “Luly Bloom” is inspired my daughter’s name and the beauty of flowers in full bloom.

Though I love working with resin, I soon realized its environmental impact. I decided to be more intentional in my resin jewelry making through education on sustainable jewelry making and art practices, and began making high-quality custom keepsakes for a more sustainable jewelry practice. I am grateful for the opportunity to help others preserve their cherished flowers and the memories they represent, crafting keepsakes that can be treasured for years to come.

Sharing the Journey

To document my projects, I initially kept a handwritten journal. Eventually, I decided to share my experiences through a blog, providing insights into flower preservation, jewelry making, and DIY projects. I love learning and experimenting, and I hope my blog offers inspiration and guidance to those who share a passion for these crafts.
